Perhaps if Apple opened up iOS, allowed side loading, removed most of the technological restrictions and generally made iOS into a real operating system (software designed to allow users to operate their computer system) iPhones would suddenly become really exciting again. I have to wonder why Apple's board of directors is allowing the management to prioritize control over profits?

This Black Friday there were some 17" laptops with RTX 3070 GPUs on sale for around $1400 that could run rings around any MacBook Pro when it comes to ray tracing. In addition they can run vastly more and better games than the MacBook Pro. However the Mac Book Pro can run rings around any Windows laptop when it is running on battery and can do so for many hours.

Interesting that NSO made the exact same excuse that Apple did for illegally scanning users private data without their permission or a search warrant:
“Thousands of lives were saved around the world thanks to NSO Group’s technologies used by its customers,” an NSO Group spokesperson said in a statement. “Pedophiles and terrorists can freely operate in technological safe-havens, and we provide governments the lawful tools to fight it.”

Perhaps Apple should focus on the user interface and leave the self driving part up to the experts? Partner with NVIDIA who seems to have a really good system in development and is open to working with other companies.

Number of crypto miners on the App Store: Zero
A lot of people have interested in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. It should not be up to Apple to decide if they can learn about crypto by doing some mining themselves on their iPhones. It won't make anyone rich (except possibly the developers who create the apps) but the best way to learn about something is by doing it.
